Around the Island Walk sponsored by TMF Group

The trustees of the Around the Island Walk sponsored by TMF Group are pleased to announce that the amount raised in the name of the Walk this year was £100,000

The main charities to benefit from this year's Walk are Age Concern, Centre Point and JSPCA. In addition, the following receive lesser amounts: Durrell (who also organised the Finish), Autism Jersey, Freedom Church, Jersey National Park, Trees for Life and Millis.

As ever St John’s Ambulance, the scouts and guides did tremendous work and will all receive recognition.

This year the trustees decided to award mementoes to Peter d’Authreau  as a Walk Hero for all the work that he has done over many years in organising the Start as well as Edward Trevor and Joy Carry for their years of service as Trustees and on the Organisation Committee. The oldest to complete the walk was Ray Hampton (78) the youngest Emily Austin (15) the most funds raised by an individual completing the Walk was James Beesley, the Relay team was Viberts Lawyers were the relay team that raised the most amount of money, these were also all presented with mementoes.

The Walk continues to raise funds for Jersey charities and the total raised during that period is in the region of £2,693,241 with 29,491 having taken part. One of the main provisions is that ALL the money raised by the walkers is redistributed to charities with the sponsors, TMF Group funding the expenses and for their charity contribution which amounted to. This Year TMF Group also donated   several thousand pounds to the Charities pot and are already looking forward to the 2023 event with the excitement around it building already.

The trustees wish to thank all the walkers who raised the money, the sponsors, TMF Group and the mass of volunteers who assisted on the day, without them the Walk would not happen.

The 2023 Walk will be on 17th June and the website will open for Early Bird registration from mid-January 2023. Applications from Charities for that walk can be submitted to Island Walk, POX 848, St Helier, JE4 0XA by 15th November with details of the project, application forms may be found on the Walk website, Islandwalk.je
