We know how hard it is to walk around the Island in one day by yourself, so in 2015 we introduced a relay, which follows the Main Walk route.
This is a fantastic opportunity for work colleagues and friends of all levels of fitness to take on the challenge as part of a team and enjoy some of the stunning countryside around the Island.
This was the first sporting event on the Island with live GPS tracking, so no need for friends, family or team-mates to wait at checkpoints for hours – just track each other’s progress and turn up for the handover “just in time”.
Each Relay Team will:
- consist of 4 people (over 16) who will each walk 1 stage of the relay
- join walkers taking on the entire 48 mile challenge in the Main Walk
- be issued with a GPS device – this is the baton to be handed over at relay points
- have its own website featuring team/company name, map tracking and sponsorship total

We will provide all walkers with an A4 map with important details about checkpoint opening hours and directions in walker packs that shall be posted during the first week of June. In the meantime, you can download a copy here: States Street Island Walk Map 2017
